The Baker County Oregon YMCA is designed for
families. The modern health facility located in the center of town
and the nearby indoor swimming pool and gym provide the foundations for
a rich array of programs and activities. This website lists all the
current events and schedules and will provide your family with all the
information to become active participants in your local YMCA.
The mission of the Baker County Family
YMCA is to provide programs that develop
the Christian values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility;
thereby building strong kids, strong families and strong communities in
sprit, mind and body
The
Fitness Center is open from 4:45 am to 9:00 pm Monday through
Thursday and Friday 4:45 am to 8:00 pm to ensure that folks can find
time in their busy schedules to keep in shape. In addition to the
available equipment, there are scheduled classes during weekdays for
fitness, cycling, sculpting, step-cardio and yoga. Saturday hours
are 8 am to 5 pm and Sunday 12:00 pm to 4 pm. A staff member is always
available for assistance during open hours.
The
Pool
(Sam-O Swim) is a year-round indoor facility partially fed by natural hot
springs. This modern facility offers scheduled exercise programs
and lap swims from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm weekdays. Open Swim hours are
seasonal, changing with the school year, see
schedule for current times. Non-members may swim during those hours
for a small fee. Saturday hours: check current
schedule. The facility is closed on Sunday.
The
Sports Gymnasium
is the center for many sports programs led by qualified instructors and
include basketball, baseball, soccer. Sports are scheduled on a
seasonal basis and have an emphasis on youth.
With these three quality facilities,
Baker County residents have a rich resource available for physical
fitness and fun. With a focus on the family, the YMCA of Baker
County is here to serve our local population. If you are a member,
we encourage you to use the facilities on a regular basis. If you
